In the summer of 2012, All Saints’ Church and two partner churches took Vacation Bible School out beyond its church walls and into the community.  Volunteers traveled to front yards, back yards and homeless prevention centers to offer CVBS. Twenty-nine of the thirty CVBS sites were located within Prince William County; one family of six traveled quite a bit further to share the Gospel message by taking CVBS to Sudan!

As a result of their mission, 500 children were introduced to Jesus Christ and accepted Him as their Savior in a country where Christians are systematically persecuted and young people are forced into Islam.  The family heard over and over again that VBS had given the people of Sudan (churches, families, and individuals) great hope.  Hope that the people of All Saints’ loved them and were praying for them.  Hope that their children could be joyful and faithful in the midst of such oppression.  Hope in seeing their churches revitalized.  Hope that only Jesus gives.

In 2013, this mission-hearted family answered God’s call to go back to Sudan and ministered to more than 1,200 children during CVBS. They also equipped others for ongoing ministry there with children, teens, and adults. On Christmas morning 2014, seven Sudanese churches of different denominations gave more than 1,600 children a gift bag from All Saints’ Church filled with school supplies, toys and personal hygiene items.

Soon, we hope to send a team back to Sudan and offer CVBS in two different areas. The persecution has intensified against Christians. Please continue to pray for this precious, persecuted people.
